Walking with Nature
We can't really take credit for one of the best amenities in our community. You'll have to thank Mother Nature!
At Summers Walk, you'll find over 30 acres of open space on the property, including trails and preserved green areas that offer plenty of opportunities to enjoy the outdoors. The trails also connect you to a variety of preserves, parks and other outdoor activities. In fact, directly adjacent to Summers Walk is 90 acres of Mecklenburg County Parks & Recreation Nature Preserve, home to one of the largest wetlands in the area!
West Branch Rocky River Greenway
Our trails connect to the newly opened West Branch Rocky River Greenway, which allows residents to walk or bike to Downtown Davidson, as well as the West Branch Nature Preserve.
The Carolina Thread Trail
The West Branch Rocky River Greenway is part of the Carolina Thread Trail, a regional network of greenways and trails that will reach 15 counties in North and South Carolina. Serving as a sort of “green interstate system,” The Thread preserves our natural areas for exploration of nature, culture, science and history.
Robert Caldwell Bradford Park
Adding to these recreational riches, this new 210-acre municipal park has opened less than a mile from Summers Walk. The first phase of the park includes soccer fields, lighted baseball and softball fields, a picnic shelter and plenty of trails for walking, running and biking.
